Parley P. Pratt Freedom Run 2020

All day -

UPDATE: Because of COVID-19, our event will look different this year. But we’re excited to share both the new course with you and the opportunity to celebrate our foundational freedoms! This year’s event will be made up of four parts:

1. A video explaining the freedoms we’re honoring on the course, told through the voices of community members.
2. A downloadable mobile guide providing background on the symbols of freedom along the route (to be released the week of Independence Day).
3. A commemorative t-shirt (you know we couldn’t skip the shirts!) that will be available with a $10 donation to the event. Pre-order here: opens in a new window Pick-up will be July 3rd from 5-8 pm and July 4th from 6-9 am at the start line (near the Boone County Courthouse at the corner of Ash St and 8th St). ORDERS DUE JUNE 25.
4. Encouragement for citizens of the community to run/walk the 4-mile course on their own on Independence Day weekend. The route will be marked, but roads will not be blocked off, so regular pedestrian rules must be followed. A form for optional self-reporting of race times will be available through the Facebook page.

We also invite you to share a photo—whether that's you and your group, your shirt, your favorite symbol, or something else!—on Facebook or Instagram using opens in a new window#pppfreedomrun.

We look forward to celebrating together this Independence Day!
